Dr. As-Sultany has more than 38 years of worldwide experience in advanced and smart organic and inorganic materials, petrochemical and plastics conversion industries; managing operations, projects and engineering activities, and leading many advanced development programs from concept to market launching.
He joined the National Industrialization Company – Tasnee, KSA, seven years ago as the General Manager of Tasnee Research and Applications Centre (NIPRAS) and progressed to be the Executive Vice President of Tasnee; responsible for Tasnee global Technology and Innovation organization that comprises three research and technology development centers in KSA, USA and UK, corporate technology functions and many technical support units around the globe. Before that he was with Raychem, Nova Petrochemical, Tyco International, Scott Bader, Moldflow and Dunlop; managing design, configuration and integration of petrochemical units, leading development programs of various advanced materials and processes for aerospace, defense, automotive, medical and domestic applications, and supervising many businesses due diligence and company acquisition schemes.
Dr. As-Sultany has obtained his BSc (Hons) Degree in Engineering from Baghdad University, Iraq in 1978 and his MSc and PhD Degrees from Cranfield University, UK, in Polymer Engineering and Advanced Materials in 1987 and 1992 respectively.
He is a registered Expert Witness and Material Consultant in UK, Chartered Engineer (British Engineering Council), Professional Member (Institute of Materials, Mining and Minerals – UK), Member (American Institute of Chemical Engineers) and Member of the Institute of Operations Management – UK.
